About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Death Overview Panel Administrator to support the sensitive, challenging, and rewarding work of the Pan Dorset and Somerset Child Death Overview Panel. This role is grounded in respect for the rights of children and their families, aiming to understand the circumstances of child deaths and identify lessons that may help prevent future tragedies.

Hosted within Dorset Council on behalf of partners across Dorset and BCP (ICB and Local Authorities), this role involves coordinating the work of the Panel, supporting the Chair and Designated Doctor for Child Deaths, and liaising with administrators across trusts and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of the Pan Dorset and Somerset Child Death Overview Panel.
• Act as an adviser to Panel members and manage the panel meeting processes.
• Ensure effective and consistent operations across Dorset and Somerset.
• Oversee the implementation and ongoing quality assurance of the eCDOP software.
• Provide training and support to new users of the eCDOP system.
• Work closely with key stakeholders including the Chair, Designated Doctor, and hospital administrators.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

• NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.

Desirable:

• Experience working with sensitive data or in a healthcare/social care setting.
• Familiarity with child safeguarding procedures or child death review processes.
• Proficiency in using case management or data systems such as eCDOP.
