Locum Social Worker Adult Social Care East Dorset (Ferndown)

Contract Type: Locum
Hours: 37 per week

Job Overview

We are seeking an Experienced Locum Social Worker to join our East Dorset Locality Team. This role involves working with adults in the community, managing complex cases, and delivering high‑quality strengths‑based assessments within a local authority setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete strengths-based assessments and care planning
  • Manage a complex caseload within adult social care
  • Conduct community visits and home assessments
  • Lead on Court of Protection work, including reports and applications
  • Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments
  • Apply strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legislation
  • Work hybrid: minimum 2 office days per week

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience in adult social care (local authority preferred)
  • Strong assessment, risk management, and case coordination skills
  • Proven work with complex cases
  • Essential experience in Court of Protection assessments and reports
  • Full ability to complete community-based work
