About the Opportunity

Connect2Dorset is seeking an experienced female Trauma-Informed Social Worker to undertake an independent Care Act assessment for a client with specific assessed needs. Due to the nature of the service user's circumstances and requirements, a female assessor is required for this assignment.

This is a standalone piece of work ideally suited to an experienced Adult Social Care professional with a strong background in Care Act assessments, safeguarding, and person-centred practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete a comprehensive Care Act 2014 assessment within a face to face environment
• Apply a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
• Assess eligible care and support needs in line with statutory requirements
• Identify risks, protective factors, and desired outcomes
• Produce a high-quality assessment report with clear recommendations
• Consider the individual's wellbeing, independence, and personal goals
• Liaise appropriately with professionals, carers, and relevant agencies
• Identify and escalate any safeguarding concerns in line with local procedures
• Maintain accurate and professional records throughout the assessment process

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
• Significant experience within Adult Social Care
• Proven experience completing Care Act 2014 assessments
• Strong understanding of:
  • Care Act 2014
  • Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Safeguarding Adults legislation
  • Strengths-based practice
  • Trauma-informed approaches
• Excellent assessment and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and professionally
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to provide evidence of a current check)

Desirable

• Experience working with individuals affected by trauma, abuse, or complex life experiences
• Independent assessment experience
• Knowledge of community resources and support networks
