Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-10:30 and 15:00-17:00

Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour

The Role

Connect2Dorset are recruiting for an Adult Day Centre Mini Bus Driver on behalf of Dorset Council.

This rewarding role involves transporting vulnerable adults to and from the Weymouth Connect Day Centre, ensuring passengers travel safely, comfortably, and with dignity. Working split shifts, you will operate a 16 to 17-seat minibus throughout the Weymouth area, providing an essential transport service that helps service users access support and community activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport vulnerable adults to and from the Weymouth Connect Day Centre.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles remain clean, roadworthy, and safe.
• Provide a caring, professional, and reliable transport service.
• Assist passengers when boarding and exiting the vehicle where required.
• Support passengers with mobility needs and ensure appropriate safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain high standards of passenger safety and wellbeing at all times.
• Build positive working relationships with service users, carers, and day centre staff.
• Complete any required records and documentation accurately.
• Adhere to all relevant road traffic legislation, safeguarding requirements, and transport policies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A valid D1 (101), D1, or D category entitlement on your driving licence.
• Experience working with vulnerable adults, care settings, or customer-facing environments is desirable.
• A caring, patient, and responsible approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strong commitment to passenger safety and customer service.
• A good level of physical fitness to assist passengers as required.
• The ability to pass a driving assessment as part of the recruitment process.

Training and Compliance

Successful applicants will be required to complete:

• An Enhanced DBS check.
• A driving assessment.
• Mandatory induction and training prior to commencing duties.
