About the role

Child Protection & Child Care Team Social Worker

Are you passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families to achieve positive outcomes? Join our Child Protection & Child Care Team and play a vital role in protecting vulnerable children, promoting their welfare, and helping them thrive in safe, stable environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments of children and families in line with statutory duties and safeguarding procedures.

• Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and care proceedings.

• Develop and implement effective care and support plans focused on achieving positive outcomes for children.

• Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies.

• Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings.

• Complete accurate and timely case recordings, reports, and risk assessments.

• Ensure the voice of the child remains central to all decision-making.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

• Experience working within children's social care, child protection, or safeguarding services.

• Strong assessment, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and associated safeguarding guidance.
