Connect2Dorset is recruiting an experienced Social Worker on behalf of the North Dorset Community Learning Disability Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Learning Disabilities Social Worker with experience managing complex caseloads, undertaking statutory duties, and working within multi-disciplinary environments to make a real difference to adults across Dorset.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload within a Learning Disability Service.
- Complete Care Act Assessments, reviews, and Care & Support Plans.
- Support and contribute to Mental Health Tribunals.
- Prepare and progress Court of Protection applications.
- Provide informal supervision, support, and guidance to colleagues.
- Undertake safeguarding and risk management responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, families, carers, and partner agencies.
- Participate in MDT meetings and multi-agency working.
- Undertake community visits across North Dorset.
- Maintain accurate case records and statutory documentation.
Requirements
Essential
- Qualified Social Worker.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Experience within Adult Social Care.
- Experience managing complex social work caseloads.
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014.
- Experience of MDT and multi-agency working.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
- Previous Learning Disability Team experience.
- Court of Protection experience.
- Mental Health Tribunal experience.
- Experience supporting adults with complex needs.
Working Arrangements
- Based at Sturminster Newton, North Dorset.
- Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 office-based days per week.
- Community visits across North Dorset required to meet service needs.
