Team Manager 'Care Leavers Team'

Location: Weymouth, Dorset

Hours: 30 hours per week Hybrid /Remote working

Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage the Care Leavers Team, ensuring high-quality support is provided to young people aged 16-25 as they transition from care to independent adulthood. The role is responsible for delivering positive outcomes in accommodation, education, employment, health, and wellbeing, while meeting statutory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support Personal Advisers and team members.
  • Oversee pathway planning and support services for care leavers.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and managed appropriately.
  • Promote Dorset Council's Corporate Parenting responsibilities.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience working with children in care and care leavers.
  • Experience of supervising or managing staff.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, leaving care legislation, and Corporate Parenting principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and partnership-working skills.
